Albany’s Eagle Hill neighborhood will be the first to receive coverage by Liberteks’ Community First Tech Responder Program which will provide technology outreach and education in communities throughout the City of Albany, Larry Zimbler announced today.
"The Liberteks First Tech Responder will have information on home computer network security such as remote monitoring, hardware, software, virus protection, disaster recovery and back up solutions," Zimbler said.
According to Zimbler, technology pro and Eagle Hill resident Terri Lukačko will be Liberteks’ Community First Tech Responder working in the community, providing technology assessments working throughout the neighborhood providing consultation and advice.
Liberteks will be participating in the National Night Out event sponsored by the Eagle Hill Neighbor Association at Lounello’s Park on Cortland and Beacon Streets on Aug 7 at 5:30 -7:30pm. Residents can visit Terri Lukačko at the Liberteks booth and ask questions on technology issues.
The Eagle Hill neighborhood is bounded by Western Ave. to the north, Route 85 to the east, parts of Krumkill Road and the State Thruway (Interstate 87) to the south, and the Albany-Guilderland boundary on the west.
In her first neighborhood survey, Lukačko found that 10 percent of the homes had unsecured networks. She will provide door hanger introductions for residents, and do surveys in the neighborhood and be available to provide proactive information about home network security.
Zimbler says Liberteks plans to continue to expand into neighborhoods throughout the city.
